Somatic Cell Count tests

Somatic Cell Count tests

Somatic cell count (SCC) tests are a practical, on-farm way to evaluate milk quality and identify signs of mastitis in dairy cows. Tests are quick, simple, and veterinarian-free – empowering dairy farmers to monitor udder health routinely and respond to issues early.

Regular SCC testing helps improve herd health, milk quality, and overall productivity.

Bartovation SCC strip test (15min)

A fast, easy to use, on-farm test to detect subclinical mastitis in dairy cows.

Measures elevated somatic cell counts (SCC) in milk.

Results are ready in 15 minutes. Requires no additional equipment.

Somafast SCC Test Kit (1 min)

A rapid, on-farm diagnostic tool used to detect subclinical mastitis in dairy cows. Measures elevated somatic cell counts (SCC) in milk.

Results are ready 20 seconds after mixing with milk. Requires no additional equipment.

CMT tests

The California Mastitis Test (CMT) is a cow-side test used to detect mastitis by measuring a cow’s somatic cell count (SCC). It involves mixing a milk sample from each quarter with a special reagent in a CMT paddle. If the mixture becomes thickened and gel-like, it indicates an elevated SCC and potential mastitis.
